This week's task is to take a series of pictures demonstrating the different effects created by varying shutter speeds; One with a high speed, one with a lowish speed (ie. panning), and one with a slow speed... you know... trailing car lights, that sort of thing... i've still not done that one - it's due tomorrow. Shit.
I've taken a picture of a liquid yellow Clio Sport driving past me, I quite like it... i'm not going to go into what I don't like about it as I have been doing as of late; I need to give myself more credit. I think. I still need to upload it though, i'll get it up tomorrow while i'm at work.
The picture I took with a fast speed was of a CHC Scotia Ltd helicoptor taking off on a flight to a gas rig from Blackpool airport. I originally phoned the company to ask when a chopper would be leaving and where I would get a good view, they told me "In half an hour, and there is a gate you can see through near the helipad, next to the airport building."... I arrived, and to my suprise the guy I spoke to handed me a bright yellow jacket and told me I could go out back onto the helipad - awesome!
I actually ended up going three times, the shot I chose was from my second visit when they took me up some stairs to a rooftop where I could get some shots looking down on the chopper - which happened to give me a fairly decent picture once it took off.
It's late, I need as much sleep as I can get... have a 15+ working hour day ahead of me
